Saturday the 7th December is the day that American Express has marked “Small Business Saturday“. It’s basically a campaign to help promote small businesses across the UK by encouraging their cardmembers to use their American Express card at participating shops.
We do accept American Express cards at Advance Upholstery, so we’re all up for Small Business Saturday, but how about promoting “Small Business EVERYDAY”?
Each time we need to buy something, are we even considering buying our goods from independent small businesses? Do we just always pop over to our local superstore in the hope that it stocks what we seek? Thing is, it probably does. It’s no surprise why people think “superstore” first; they sell pretty much everything under one roof these days; from groceries, right through to furniture, widescreen TVs, and legal advice packages. It’s becoming more obvious that small businesses may not get a look in before too long.
Wouldn’t it be great if every time we needed to go shopping, at least one of our products was purchased from a small business, either locally or on the internet? So, let’s use American Express’ initiative to support small businesses regularly, not just next Saturday.
“Small business” is not necessarily synonymous with “expensive”, so it’d be a shame not to consider them without trying to find out more about these shops.
As a small, family-run business ourselves, we offer very competitive prices, and sincerely value the support from people like you.
Please do check our homepage for the range of products we make for your home, caravan, boat, club, bar or restaurant. But while we have you here, allow us to show you just a few examples of the kind of things we offer:
